Audi A3
2013–present · 1.4 TFSI / 2.0 TFSI / 40 TFSI
The Audi A3 8V (2013–2020) and 8Y (2021+) use the EA888 TFSI engine family. The 7-speed DQ200 dry-clutch S-tronic on 1.4T variants is the single biggest reliability concern — judder, creep and mechatronic failure are well-documented. The 2.0T DQ250 wet-clutch S-tronic is far more reliable. EA888 oil consumption and carbon buildup on intake valves are common across all TFSI variants.

Audi A4
2016–present · 2.0 TFSI / 40 TFSI (EA888)
The Audi A4 B9 (2016–2023) and B9.5 (2024+) are the most popular Audi sedan in Malaysia. All Malaysian-spec B9 A4 use the 2.0 TFSI EA888 Gen 3 engine with the DQ381 7-speed wet S-tronic — far more reliable than the older DQ200 in A3. Main concerns: EA888 high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failures, oil consumption, carbon buildup and S-tronic mechatronic unit at high mileage.

Audi A5
2008–present (8T / B9) · 2.0 TFSI / 40 TFSI (EA888)
The Audi A5 8T (2008–2016) and B9 (2017+) share the same EA888 TFSI platform as the A4. B9 A5 Sportback uses the DQ381 wet S-tronic — reliable. Early 8T with DQ200 dry clutch: known judder and mechatronic issues. Carbon buildup on intake valves at 60,000–80,000 km, HPFP failure risk on all TFSI variants. Malaysia: Sportback body is the most common variant.

Audi A6
2011–present · 2.0 TFSI / 3.0 TFSI / 55 TFSI
The Audi A6 C7 (2011–2018) and C8 (2018+) are executive sedans popular among Malaysian business owners. C7 2.0 TFSI and 3.0 TFSI supercharged; C8 moves to turbo TFSI. Quattro variants add Haldex/Torsen AWD fluid service. C7 air suspension (optional) is a high-cost maintenance item. EA888 carbon buildup and HPFP are the main concerns across all variants.

Audi A7
2011–present (4G / 4K) · 3.0 TFSI Supercharged (4G) / 3.0 TFSI Turbo / 55 TFSI (4K)
The Audi A7 4G (2011–2018) uses a 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 — supercharger belt at 80,000 km is a critical service item. The 4K (2018+) switches to 3.0 TFSI turbocharged with 48V mild hybrid. Air suspension standard on most Malaysian-spec A7. Quattro Torsen AWD on both generations. HPFP and carbon buildup apply to all TFSI variants. A7 Sportback is a prestige choice among Malaysian executives.

Audi A8
2009–present (D4 / D5) · 3.0 TFSI / 4.0 TFSI Biturbo / 4.2 FSI V8 (D4)
The Audi A8 D4 (2009–2017) and D5 (2017+) are Audi's flagship sedans. All A8 use air suspension — compressor and air strut failure are the most expensive maintenance items (RM 3,000–8,000). D4 3.0 TFSI supercharged: supercharger belt at 80,000 km. D5 3.0 TFSI turbo: 48V mild hybrid system adds complexity. 4.0 TFSI V8 Biturbo on A8 L: highest running cost. Carbon buildup and HPFP are universal TFSI concerns.

Audi Q2
2016–present (GA) · 1.0 TFSI / 1.5 TFSI / 35 TFSI / 40 TFSI
The Audi Q2 GA (2016+) is Audi's smallest SUV sold in Malaysia. Most variants use the DQ200 7-speed dry-clutch S-tronic — same judder and mechatronic failure risk as A3 1.4T. 1.0 TFSI and 1.5 TFSI engines: lower carbon buildup risk than 2.0T but EA211/EA888 oil change discipline is still important. Compact size means lower tyre and brake costs vs Q3/Q5. Entry point to Audi SUV ownership.

Audi Q3
2012–present · 1.4 TFSI / 2.0 TFSI / 35 TFSI / 45 TFSI
The Audi Q3 8U (2012–2018) and F3 (2019+) are compact SUVs. 8U uses 1.4T DQ200 (dry clutch) or 2.0T DQ250 (wet clutch). F3 uses the newer 1.5T/2.0T with DQ200 (FWD) or DQ381 (quattro). DQ200 judder is the main complaint on 1.4T variants. EA888 oil consumption and carbon buildup apply across all TFSI variants. quattro Haldex fluid every 40,000 km is often overlooked.

Audi Q5
2008–present · 2.0 TFSI / 40 TFSI / 45 TFSI (EA888)
The Audi Q5 8R (2008–2017) and FY (2017+) are the most popular Audi SUV in Malaysia. All Q5 come with quattro AWD — Haldex coupling fluid every 40,000 km is critical. 8R 2.0 TFSI has known timing chain issues on early variants (pre-2012). FY EA888 Gen 3 is more reliable. HPFP, carbon buildup and S-tronic mechatronic unit are the key watchpoints. Quattro Haldex fluid often neglected — causes AWD binding and coupling wear.

Audi Q7
2006–present · 3.0 TFSI / 55 TFSI / 4.2 FSI V8 (4L only)
The Audi Q7 4L (2006–2015) and 4M (2015+) are large 3-row SUVs. 4L uses 3.0 TFSI supercharged or 4.2 FSI V8 — air suspension standard. 4M uses 3.0 TFSI turbocharged, more efficient. Air suspension (Audi Adaptive Air Suspension) on all variants is the highest-cost maintenance item. 4L supercharger belt and 4.2 V8 timing chain are additional watchpoints. Quattro Torsen centre diff on 4M vs Haldex on some 4L.

Audi Q8
2018–present (4MN) · 3.0 TFSI / 55 TFSI (EA839 Turbo V6) — 48V mild hybrid
The Audi Q8 4MN (2018+) shares the MLB Evo platform with the Q7 but in a sportier 5-seat coupe SUV body. All Malaysian-spec Q8 use the 3.0 TFSI turbocharged V6 with 48V mild hybrid and air suspension. Air suspension compressor and struts: same high-cost concern as Q7. Timing chain on EA839 V6 is more robust than older EA888. Quattro Torsen AWD — no Haldex. Transfer case and diff fluid every 60,000 km.

Audi TT
2006–2023 (8J / 8S) · 2.0 TFSI / 2.5 TFSI RS (EA888)
The Audi TT 8J (2006–2014) and 8S (2014–2023) are compact sports coupes. Both generations use the 2.0 TFSI EA888 with the DQ250 6-speed wet S-tronic (more reliable than DQ200). Quattro Haldex available on TTS and TTRS — Haldex fluid every 40,000 km is critical. Carbon buildup at 60,000–80,000 km. TT has been discontinued as of 2023. Malaysia: used TT market active — value for money sports car. TTRS 2.5 TFSI: five-cylinder engine, different service profile.
