A3 Battery
- AGM or EFB — must code via VCDS after replacement
- Cost: RM 450–680 (battery + coding)
AGM Battery Registration — Mandatory for Audi
Never skip VCDS or ODIS battery registration after replacing the A3's AGM battery. Without registration, the power management system continues charging at the old battery's degraded profile — this overcharges and destroys a new AGM within 6–12 months. Registration resets the charging algorithm and odometer-tracked battery age. Also note: in Malaysia's stop-start city traffic, A3 batteries drain faster than in European conditions. Battery health check is included in every 4M Car Care major service.
