Case 1: Q2 1.4T — DQ200 Mechatronic (54,000 km)
Q2 GA 1.4T, 54,000 km: severe judder from standstill in morning traffic, intermittent DSG warning light. VCDS: mechatronic adaptation at limit, DSG fluid condition very poor (black, never changed). Step 1: DSG fluid change + VCDS software update (RM 480). Test drive: judder reduced but not eliminated. Step 2: mechatronic unit replacement (RM 5,200). Post-repair: perfectly smooth engagement. Lesson: earlier DSG fluid changes would likely have prevented mechatronic failure. Customer now on 40,000 km DSG change schedule.
Case 2: Q2 1.4T — COD Disable + Carbon (63,000 km)
Q2 GA 1.4T, 63,000 km: owner complained of vibration at highway cruise and slightly rough idle. VCDS: COD active (cycling between 2 and 4 cylinders at highway cruise). Carbon: moderate intake valve buildup. Actions: (1) COD disabled via VCDS coding — highway vibration disappeared immediately. (2) Walnut blast carbon clean (RM 650). (3) DSG fluid (RM 420). Total: RM 1,070 + VCDS time. Owner happy — smoother highway cruise and cleaner idle. Fuel economy dropped by 3% with COD off, but owner prefers the smoother drive.
