BMW F10 Cooling System Overhaul (142,352 KM · Sri Damansara)
A BMW F10 5 Series at 142,352 KM came in for a full cooling system overhaul — Shell Helix HX8 5W-30 engine oil, new OEM radiator assembly, thermostat with housing, all coolant hoses, turbo coolant pipes, expansion tank hose, fan belt, antifreeze and wheel alignment. At high mileage, a complete coolant system refresh prevents costly overheating damage.

This BMW F10 5 Series from Bandar Sri Damansara had already covered 142,352 KM. At high mileage, the cooling system components — rubber hoses, thermostat, radiator — age and harden, making overheating one of the most common risks. We performed a full cooling system overhaul to eliminate the problem at its root.
Services performed
Shell Helix HX8 5W-30 engine oil 5.5L — recommended full-synthetic oil for the BMW F10 straight-six turbo engine, reducing friction during warm-up and protecting the engine.
Oil filter replacement — replaced at the same time to maintain clean oil circulation.
Antifreeze top-up — ensuring coolant concentration meets specification to prevent boiling in heat and freezing in cold.
New OEM radiator assembly — the original radiator showed signs of leaking; replaced with an OEM-grade unit to restore factory-level cooling efficiency.
Upper and lower radiator coolant hoses — ageing rubber hoses are a common issue on high-mileage BMWs; full replacement to eliminate leaks.
Thermostat and housing replacement — the F10's plastic thermostat housing is prone to cracking at high mileage; replaced together to avoid future leaks.
Turbo coolant pipe replacement — the turbo engine demands higher cooling capacity; ageing turbo water pipes replaced promptly.
Water pump inlet hose and pipework — full replacement of all hose connectors to ensure a sealed cooling circuit.
Radiator-to-engine hose — full replacement of the engine-side radiator connection hose.
Expansion tank lower hose — full inspection and hose replacement for the expansion tank system.
Fan belt replacement — an ageing slipping belt affects cooling fan efficiency; replaced at the same time.
4-wheel alignment — performed after all repairs to ensure stable straight-line driving.
Why replace the full cooling system at high mileage?
The BMW F10 cooling system uses a lot of plastic and rubber components. In Malaysia's high-temperature environment, cars over 7–10 years old or above 100,000 KM are very likely to suffer from ageing and cracking. Replacing just one component while leaving other aged parts means a new leak point will appear again soon. A full overhaul in one visit combines labour costs, is more economical, and completely eliminates the risk of engine overheating.
4M Car Care uses OEM-grade parts to handle all BMW repair work, with professional diagnosis to confirm the root cause before any work begins. If you notice cooling system abnormalities — rising temperature, coolant dropping, sweet smell from the engine bay — WhatsApp us for a check and quote.
