Ativa D-CVT: change Perodua-spec CVT fluid every 40,000 km. Turbo heat degrades CVT fluid faster than on naturally aspirated cars — do not extend the interval. Using generic or wrong CVT fluid causes belt slip and eventually CVT failure (RM 3,000–6,000). Always buy Perodua-branded or recommended fluid.
Ativa D-CVT Fluid — Turbo Considerations
The Ativa uses the same D-CVT as other Perodua models but paired with a turbo engine — the higher torque means the D-CVT runs under greater load. Use only Perodua/Daihatsu-spec CVT fluid. Change every 40,000 km (or earlier if the car is used for frequent towing or hilly driving). The Ativa D-CVT may show more sensitivity to fluid degradation than naturally-aspirated models — do not skip the change.
