The Proton S70 (2023+) uses the same 1.5T TGDi 3-cylinder engine and 7-speed wet DCT as the X50, based on the Geely Emgrand/Binrui platform. Direct injection means carbon at 60,000–80,000 km. DCT fluid every 40,000 km is critical. As a newer model, long-term reliability data is still accumulating — but the powertrain is proven in X50.
