X70 comes in two transmission options: 7-speed wet DCT (most variants) or 6-speed Aisin AT (some). For DCT: use Geely-spec DCT fluid, change every 40,000 km. Do NOT use generic ATF — the wet clutch packs require specific friction modifiers. For Aisin 6AT: use Dexron VI, change every 60,000 km. Aisin AT is more reliable and less sensitive to fluid spec.

Proton models use different transmissions: Saga/Persona use a 4-speed auto (Dexron III ATF) or 5-speed manual; X50/X70/X90 use a 7-speed dry dual-clutch (7DCT) requiring Geely-spec DCT fluid — NOT standard ATF. The 7DCT is sensitive to fluid degradation; change every 40,000–60,000 km. Clutch adaptation reset is sometimes needed after fluid change — only a Proton-equipped scanner (PTSS) can do this properly.
