Touareg Power Steering
- EPS with Rear Axle Steering (optional on some CR trims); rack fault: RM 3,500–6,000 (larger vehicle, heavier rack)
VW EPS — No Fluid but Needs VCDS Coding
The Touareg has electric power steering with no hydraulic fluid to service. However EPS motor, column bearing, and torque sensor are wear items. Replacing the EPS unit requires VCDS coding to VIN — without it, the steering warning light stays on. Common symptoms in Malaysia: groaning on full lock in hot car parks, variable steering weight at speed.
