A7 4G: 7-speed S-tronic DQ500 (wet clutch, 500Nm rated) — Pentosin FFL-2 every 60,000 km. A7 4K: 8-speed Tiptronic ZF (not S-tronic) — ZF Lifeguard 8 ATF every 60,000 km. Malaysia: RM 700–1,100. Never use generic ATF. Symptoms of degraded fluid: harsh shifts at cold start, delay into reverse.
A7 ZF 8HP & Quattro Fluids
- ZF 8HP 8-speed: ZF LifeGuard 8 fluid — every 60,000 km, RM 550–800
- Torsen centre differential: Audi/VW SAF-XO — every 60,000 km, RM 300–500
- ZF 8HP is NOT the same fluid as DSG — do not substitute G052182 ATF
S tronic Fluid — Not Lifetime in Malaysia
Audi once labelled the S tronic dual-clutch gearbox as having lifetime fluid — this has since been revised. In Malaysia's heat, S tronic fluid breaks down faster than in Germany. Dark fluid at 60,000 km indicates oxidation and reduced clutch lubrication. A A7 S tronic rebuild costs RM 8,000–20,000; a fluid service costs RM 400–700.
