A8 Battery

- AGM main cost: RM 800–1,200 + VCDS coding
AGM Battery Registration — Mandatory for Audi
Never skip VCDS or ODIS battery registration after replacing the A8's AGM battery. Without registration, the power management system continues charging at the old battery's degraded profile — this overcharges and destroys a new AGM within 6–12 months. Registration resets the charging algorithm and odometer-tracked battery age. Also note: in Malaysia's stop-start city traffic, A8 batteries drain faster than in European conditions. Battery health check is included in every 4M Car Care major service.
