Surface Rust and Disc Life in Malaysian Humidity

High humidity in Malaysia means brake discs surface-rust quickly after rain or overnight. This is normal and clears within a few brake applications. Concern yourself with disc minimum thickness (stamped on disc edge), deep radial grooves and disc warping felt as brake pedal pulsation. On the TT, always replace brake pads and discs as a pair when either is at the wear limit. Using aftermarket coated discs (Brembo, DBA, PowerStop) reduces surface rust and improves cold wet-weather braking performance.
