Buying a Used Audi TT Malaysia — Checklist
Used TT checklist: VCDS S-tronic adaptation. 8J: cold start idle (HPFP fuel pressure — P0087 is the code). Carbon: rough cold idle at 60,000+ km. Haldex (TTS/TTRS): fluid service history. A-pillar water seal: check carpet at base of A-pillar for dampness. 8J Gen 1 timing chain: cold start rattle. Service history with correct oil spec.
TT Used Car Checklist
- VCDS full scan: engine, DQ350, Haldex coupling health data, magnetic ride (if fitted)
- 8J (pre-2014): cold-start EA888 Gen 2 chain rattle test mandatory
- Haldex + DQ350 fluid records: ask for proof of both services
- Inspect undercarriage for scrape damage (low ground clearance)
- Brake pad wear — sports car often driven hard; check pad thickness
- Tyre condition: all 4 even wear? Mismatched brand = alignment concern
Pre-Purchase VCDS Inspection at 4M Car Care
