Perodua Aruz Common Problems Malaysia
The Perodua Aruz (2019+) uses the 1.5L 2NR-VE engine (Toyota-derived, port injection) with a 7-speed D-AT automatic and optional AWD. Port injection means NO carbon on intake valves. As a larger, heavier SUV than the Myvi, the Aruz places more load on brakes, front struts, and the ATF — all need more vigilant servicing than lighter Perodua models. ATF every 40,000 km is critical.
Top Issues
- •ATF neglect — 7-speed D-AT harsh shifts after 80,000 km; RM 200–350 ATF service
- •Front strut wear at 70,000–90,000 km — heavier than Myvi; RM 400–700 per pair
- •Brake pad wear 40,000–50,000 km (heavier SUV body); RM 150–280 front set
- •A/C compressor at 90,000–120,000 km — RM 700–1,100; SUV cabin is larger than Myvi
- •AWD (4WD variant): rear differential fluid every 40,000 km — often overlooked
