Oil Leak Detection on Perodua Engines
Common oil leak points on NR-VE engines: valve cover gasket (look for brown residue on top of engine), camshaft oil seal, crankshaft front and rear seals, and oil drain plug (overtightened at previous service). Valve cover gasket is the most common — replacement is RM 100–200 at independent workshops. Oil leaks in Malaysia's heat are accelerated — check the ground under the car monthly and inspect the engine bay at each oil change.
