Perodua Bezza Carbon — Port Injection
Perodua Bezza · 2016–present
Bezza 1.0L and 1.3L both use port fuel injection — no direct injection carbon risk. Throttle body cleaning every 40,000 km is all that's needed.
Carbon Buildup in Malaysian Urban Use
The NR-VE uses port fuel injection (not direct injection), so carbon buildup on intake valves is less severe than turbocharged direct-injection engines. However, short urban trips without occasional highway runs accumulate combustion deposits. Every 6 months, take the car on a 30-minute highway run at 3,000+ rpm to burn off deposits. Carbon cleaning (walnut blasting) is rarely needed on Perodua engines — be skeptical of workshops recommending it unnecessarily.
