- •Ask for CVT fluid change records — if none at 60,000+ km, change immediately
- •Check ASA function: lane-keep and emergency braking light on dash should be off
- •Check smart key remote — press lock/unlock; should respond within 5 metres
Buying a Used Perodua — Malaysia Checklist
When inspecting a used Perodua: (1) Check D-CVT fluid colour — dark/burnt smell means it was never changed; (2) Test ASA camera — verify it activates at low speeds; (3) Check for accident repair via paint thickness gauge; (4) Verify service history at a Perodua Service Centre (they can look up the chassis number); (5) Test A/C evaporator for musty smell with recirculation on. A pre-purchase inspection by a trusted workshop costs RM 80–150 and is always worth it.
