- AGM battery required (Start-Stop + 48V system on some variants) — RM 550–850
- Must code new battery with VCDS or dealer; failure to code causes premature charging issues
AGM Battery Registration Via VCDS — Do Not Skip
Skipping VCDS battery registration after replacing the Arteon AGM battery causes the power management system to overcharge the new battery — destroying it within 6–12 months. Registration resets the charging algorithm and battery age counter. Battery health check is included in every 4M Car Care service.
