VW Arteon Carbon Cleaning Malaysia
EA888 2.0T: direct injection — carbon builds at 60,000–80,000 km. Walnut blast RM 1,000–1,350. Same issue as Golf 7 GTI, Passat B8. HPFP + cam follower check at same interval.
Arteon Carbon Buildup
- EA888 Gen3B = direct injection only — significant carbon buildup on intake valves by 60,000–80,000 km
- Fix: walnut shell blast; RM 1,000–1,400 for Arteon (access slightly harder than Golf due to engine bay)
- Prevention: short-trip drivers should use intake cleaner spray every 15,000 km as supplement
Walnut Blasting for TSI Direct Injection
Direct injection TSI engines cannot clean intake valves with fuel — carbon builds up over 60,000–80,000 km of KL city driving. Symptoms: rough idle, hesitation, reduced economy. Walnut blasting removes deposits without removing the cylinder head. At 4M Car Care this is done at operating temperature followed by VCDS idle adaptation reset.
