Audi A7 Air Conditioning Malaysia
A7 uses R1234yf (4K) or R134a (4G). Four-zone climate standard on A7. Large Sportback cabin: A/C works hard in Malaysia heat. Compressor RM 2,500–5,000. Cabin filter every 15,000 km. Re-gas every 3–4 years. 4K: heat pump optional — reduce range in EV mode (irrelevant for A7 ICE but affects 48V efficiency).

A7 A/C Service
- C8 (2018+): R1234yf refrigerant — regas RM 400–580
- 4-zone climate control: diagnose per zone with VCDS if any zone malfunctions
R1234yf vs R134a — Malaysia A/C Context
Newer A7 variants use R1234yf refrigerant, which costs significantly more to regas than the older R134a. Do not mix refrigerant types — this damages the A/C compressor and seals. Always confirm which refrigerant your specific A7 uses before any A/C service. In Malaysia's year-round heat, the Audi A/C compressor runs nearly continuously. Annual A/C inspection at 4M Car Care is recommended to catch compressor wear and refrigerant leaks early — A/C compressor replacement on the A7 costs RM 1,200–2,800.
