Mazda uses solid front discs on Mazda3 and vented front discs on CX-5/CX-8. Malaysia's road humps accelerate disc scoring and distortion. Replace discs when below minimum thickness (stamped on disc) or when brake pedal vibration is persistent after pad replacement. Typical disc lifespan: 80,000–120,000 km with normal use. OEM discs: RM 150–350 each; aftermarket (Zimmermann, Brembo, DBA): RM 120–300 each. Always replace in axle pairs and bed in new pads on new discs with 10 gentle stops from 60 km/h to allow proper surface transfer.
