For any used SKYACTIV Mazda: (1) Verify oil grade used — check the oil cap for 0W-20 specification; if 5W-30 stickers are present, the owner used wrong oil; (2) Check timing chain — warm up engine, listen for cold-start rattle; (3) Confirm service history via Bermaz Service Plus system (show name/IC for lookup); (4) Test i-stop — should activate within 1 minute of city driving; (5) Check all Advanced Safety features (MRCC, BSM, LDWS) — if any warning lights are on, budget for sensor calibration. For CX-5/CX-8 AWD: test AWD engagement (slight resistance turning tightly on dry pavement is normal). Pre-purchase inspection by a Mazda specialist: RM 150–300.
