The Tiguan's 1.4 TSI / 2.0 TSI 4Motion engine uses an electric or belt-driven water pump depending on variant. In Malaysia's high ambient temperatures, cooling system components work harder than in Europe. Common failure signs — slight temperature gauge rise, loss of cabin heat, intermittent cooling warning — should be diagnosed with VCDS before they escalate to overheating.
