DSG Fluid — Not Lifetime in Malaysia
VW once labelled DSG gearboxes as having lifetime fluid — this claim has since been revised. In Malaysia's heat, DSG fluid (both DQ200 dry-clutch and DQ250 wet-clutch) degrades faster than in Europe. Dark fluid at 60,000 km signals oxidation. A Tiguan DSG rebuild costs RM 5,000–15,000; a fluid service costs RM 350–600.
