Case 1: Q8 55 TFSI — Air Suspension Valve Block + Carbon (76,000 km)
Q8 55 TFSI, 76,000 km: owner noticed rear-left sitting 30mm lower overnight. VCDS: valve block valve 3 fault, compressor pressure test: 18 bar (normal >22 bar). Valve block replaced (RM 3,400) before compressor was damaged. Combined with: carbon walnut blast 6-cyl (RM 1,700) + ZF 8HP fluid (RM 720) + both diff SAF-XO (RM 480) + spark plugs (RM 820). Total: RM 7,120. Compressor saved by catching valve block early — compressor replacement would have added RM 5,000+.
Case 2: Q8 — HPFP Cam Follower Inspection (62,000 km)
Q8 55 TFSI, 62,000 km: proactive inspection during major service. No symptoms. VCDS: clean. HPFP cam follower inspection opened: found 0.6mm wear (replace at 0.5mm). Follower replaced (RM 380). Had this been left, the scored camshaft lobe would have required full camshaft replacement at RM 4,500+. Cost of proactive inspection + follower: RM 580 including labour. Best value preventive action on any EA839-powered Audi.
