A5 A/C Service
- B9 (2017–2020): R134a — regas RM 180–260
- B9.5 (2020+): R1234yf — regas RM 350–500
- Cabin filter every 15,000 km
R1234yf vs R134a — Malaysia A/C Context
Newer A5 variants use R1234yf refrigerant, which costs significantly more to regas than the older R134a. Do not mix refrigerant types — this damages the A/C compressor and seals. Always confirm which refrigerant your specific A5 uses before any A/C service. In Malaysia's year-round heat, the Audi A/C compressor runs nearly continuously. Annual A/C inspection at 4M Car Care is recommended to catch compressor wear and refrigerant leaks early — A/C compressor replacement on the A5 costs RM 1,200–2,800.
