A5 2.0 TFSI: 4.5L capacity. Must use VW 502.00 or 504.00 approved oil — 5W-30 or 5W-40 fully synthetic. Approved: Castrol Edge 5W-30, Mobil 1 5W-40, Shell Helix Ultra 5W-30. VW Group Oil Spec — Malaysia Context
Using the wrong oil in a A5 is one of the most expensive mistakes in Malaysian workshops. The 2.0 TFSI (B9) / 45 TFSI engine requires a VW Group approval (VW 504 00 / 507 00 or VW 508 00 / 509 00 for newer models) — generic 5W-40 will not meet the additive requirements and accelerates injector wear. Malaysia's high ambient temperature makes oil spec compliance more critical. Always verify the VW Group approval code printed on the oil bottle before any top-up or oil change.
