Audi A5 Carbon Cleaning Malaysia
A5 2.0 TFSI: direct injection — carbon on intake valves at 60,000–80,000 km. Symptoms: rough cold idle, hesitation above 3,000 RPM, reduced power. Walnut blast: RM 900–1,400. S5 3.0T supercharged: port-injected — NO carbon concern. B9 A5 2.0 TFSI Gen 3: direct + port injection — much less carbon buildup.

Walnut Blasting for Audi TFSI — When Needed
The A5's 2.0 TFSI (B9) / 45 TFSI direct-injection engine cannot clean intake valves with fuel — carbon accumulates on the back of the valves over time. By 80,000 km of KL city driving, deposits are typically 3–5mm thick. Symptoms: rough idle, hesitation at 1,500–2,500 RPM, reduced fuel economy. Walnut blasting (media blasting with crushed walnut shells) removes the carbon without removing the cylinder head. At 4M Car Care we perform this service with the engine at operating temperature and use VCDS to confirm smooth idling afterwards.
