Buying a Used Audi A5 Malaysia — Checklist
Used A5 checklist: VCDS scan — S-tronic adaptation, fault codes, DQ200 clutch wear %. Cold start idle smoothness (carbon test). Oil level and condition. HPFP: cold start hesitation or stutter = HPFP suspect. Service history with correct oil spec (502/504). 8T: avoid DQ200 unless adaptation clear. Cabriolet: roof cycle test, carpet dampness check.
A5 Used Car Checklist
- VCDS full scan: DQ381 mechatronic, misfire history, cam follower data
- Cold start: listen for chain rattle or fuel pump noise
- Check oil level — EA888 should not consume more than 0.5L per 5,000 km
- DQ381 fluid history: colour and service record
- Coupe/Sportback: check roof mechanism (Sportback panoramic), door seal condition
Pre-Purchase VCDS Inspection at 4M Car Care
